Found in North America

It is a Alterative, Anthelmintic, Antiseptic, Antitussive, Bitter, Expectorant, Stimulant, Diuretic.

Today elecampane root is used primarily for respiratory, and bronchitis, it is used with Echinacea for tuberculosis and whooping cough. Its bitter tonic properties stimulate a weak digestive system and helps to balance a disordered digestion. It also increases the flow of bile and is beneficial for anemia. It can also be used for kidney and bladder infections.

Externally, this plant has long been used for the treatment of scabies, herpes, and other skin diseases, from which it received it ” common name of “Scabwort”

There is a caution… Do not use if pregnant or nursing.
