Cup-Plant ( Silphium perfoliatum , is long known as a general restorative. Years have established its value in the spleen and liver affections, also useful in fevers.Cup-Plant is a native perennial plant that grows up to 4 to 10 ft. high. The leaves are a coarsely toothed, rough, sandpapery, texture. It  perfers full to partial sun, and moist loamy soil.

Its action is, alterative, disphoretic, tonic. Parts used root which contains Rhizome.

Method use is decocotion ( tea ) of powered root, dosage, wine glassful doses at intervals.
