Euphorbia Hirta

( Pill-bearing spurge)

Parts used: aerial

Aids with: liver, lungs

Actions: anti-asthmatic, antispasmodic, anticatarrhal, expectorant.

Euphorbia Hirta, as the, asthma weed, in the West pill-bearing spurge is a native of India and Australia where it is traditionally used to treat asthma. In India it known as ,laldudhi,  the whole plant is used for intestinal worms and kidney disorders, a wash is used to treat skin sores. The root of this plant is anti-emetic. In the Philippines, a decoctions is a traditional eye remedy and in Hawaii it is used for poultices and gargles.

Euphorbia Hirta, is known to relax the bronchioles and to ease breathing. In the early part of the twentieth century, it was used in anticancer remedies,and some anti-tumor properties have been recorded.
