Dimocarpus Longan

( Longan/ Long Yan Ron)

Parts used; fruit

Aids with: heart, spleen.

Actions: nourishing, sedative, antifungal.

The longan fruits are rather like raisins and is delicious in cooking. This herb has been used in the Chinese medicine for about 2000 years and believed to nourish the blood, calms the spirit, and tonify the heart and spleen. The longan berries can combat insomnia, forgetfulness, dizziness, and palpitations, which are usually dismissed simply as consequences of aging in Western medicine. It is also used as a good tonic following the childbirth.
