Lemon Scented Eucalyptus

( Eucalyptus cirriodora )

It is a tall evergreen tree, sometimes called a gum tree,  that is a native to Australia. It is a pale yellow oil that has long been used for sachets in linen closets, because of its lemon scent, Lemon Scented Eucalyptus is especially effective insect repellent.

It is a sedative, anti-inflammatory,antiseptic, and deodorant action.

The leaves and twigs are used to produce the essential oil. To release the oil from the leaves,they must first be bruised

because the glands are not accessible to the distillation process.

Aids with; mosquito bites, skin irritations, herpes sores, stress, laryngitis, sore throat, colds,flu,asthma,muscle tension,

athlete’s foot. Side effects are not serious, could cause irritation to extremely sensitive skin.

For most ailments the oil can be diluted and rubbed directly on the problem areas. Dilute by mixing 10 to 15

drops essential oil with 2 tbsp. aloe gel or a carrier oil, as vegetable or almond oil. Apply to the chest area to

relieve a respiratory ailment. Inhaling the oil can be especially useful for treating stress, colds and the flu.

Place a few drops on a cloth, or use a diffuser to scent the entire room.
