Jasmine is a hardy evergreen vine and shrub a native to India, China, in early times, ancient Persia. The white flower, from which jasmine absolute is made, produces a scent that is both spicy and sweet. It is a mild analgesic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, and expectorant. Since the late 1980’s it has been rendered for use not as a oil but as a highly concentrated substance known as an absolute. Production of an absolute requires huge quantities of flowers and the use of a solvent such as alcohol or petroleum. Jasmine absolute is dark orange in color, with a rich flora , tealike scent.
Jasmine absolute can be worn as a perfume, sprinkled on a handkerchief and inhaled, or use in a diffuser to scent any room. To apply to your skin, blend 4 drops in 1 tbs. vegetable or nut oil, or aloe gel..
For bathing, mix 5 drops in bath water.
Be caution in buying any jasmine product labeled, essential oil, essential oils are produced by distillation, which ruins the delicate perfume.
