Taosty Apple-rice pudding

1/3 cup maple syrup
2 tbsp butter (or margarine)
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
2 apples (peeled, cored and chopped)
2 cups cooked rice
2 cups milk
1/2 cup raisins
1/3 cup toasted wheat germ

1. Mix and heat syrup, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg and apples in a saucepan, heat until mixture is hot and bubbly
2. Add rice, milk and raisins, heat until it bubbles, but not at a full out boil
3. Reduce heat and simmer, continue to mix until pudding thickens up, around 15 minutes
4. Take off the stove, sprinkle with the wheat germ and serve
