Sargassum Seaweed is commonly known as seaweed, sargassum is collected from the coastal provinces of China and from other coastline around the world. Its high content of the element iodine makes it effective in treating a variety of ailments related to thyroid gland. It also promotes urination and is traditionally prescribed for the pain of hernia.
Sargassum’s ability to stimulate the excretion of fluids from the body makes it useful for individuals trying to loose weight. The herb is not appropriate for all weight loss patients, however, because its impact on the thyroid gland affects the metabaolism rate. Consult a practitioner of Chinese medicine before using this herb.
Aids with; Nodules in the neck, goiter, thyroid disorders, scrofula ( a form of tuberculosis ),inadequate urination,edema, pain from hernia,swollen, pain testes.
