Omega-3 fatty acids have earned a wide reputation for preventing heart disease. They are linked to low incidences of heart disease in world population that eat large amounts of fatty fish. These fatty acids help lower blood levels of LDL, the harmful type of cholesterol that can lead to atherosclerosis. Omega-3 fatty acids also contribute to functions in the body that help thin the blood and decrease plaque along artery walls, improving blood circulation.
Aids with, heart disease, high cholesterol, arthritis, colitis, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis ( eczema ), lupus, mulitple sclerosis, cancer.
There is precautions on it, avoid concentrated supplements unless recommended by your doctor. Omega-3 fatty acids may slow blood clotting. Do not take these supplements if you have a blood clotting disorder. If you are pregnant or breast feeding, consult your doctor before taking supplements. With excessive amounts, unusual bleeding may result. Omega-3 fatty acids supplements may raise blood levels of HDL, the good kind of cholesterol, causing an increase in overall blood cholesterol levels. Anticoagulant medications including aspirin, may increase anticoagulant effect. Consult your doctor before taking omega-3 fatty acid supplements.
Some side effects are, but not serious, are unusual tiredness ( anemia).
