Microwave Peanut Brittle

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. corn syrup
1 c. raw peanuts ( unsalted )
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbs. margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Combine sugar and corn syrup in a large 10 c. glass bowl. Microwave on high for 8 to 9 minutes. Stop after 5 minutes and stir, adding the peanuts and salt, then continue cooking. Remove the bowl and add the margarine and vanilla. Return to the microwave and cook on high for 2 minutes longer. Remove and stir in baking soda. Spread quickly on a greased cookie sheet. When the brittle cools, break into pieces.
