Dutch Honey Bread
My Grandfather’s Mother was Dutch and we all loved this bread.
Ingredients:
2 c. unsifted all purpose flour
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 Tbs. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 well beaten egg
1/4 c. honey
nuts if you wish
directions:
Mix all dry ingredients together. Add the buttermilk, egg and honey, blend well. Pour into an oiled 9 x 5 inch loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes. When done this bread will have a very firm crust.
