Food Recipe of the Day: Fried Apple Pies

This recipe is for about 30 some pies. You can use what is needed than freeze the rest. It is good with ice cream served on top.

Fried Apple Pies
5 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs (slightly beaten)
1 tsp.salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 cup Crisco
13 oz. can evaporated milk
1 can apple pie filling

Cut shortening in dry ingredients. Mix eggs and milk together then add to first mixture. Mix with fork till it holds together no more. Roll out rather thin. Cut out small rounds using a small saucer as a pattern. Put a spoonful of your favorite fruit pie filling on one side . Be sure your filling is fairly and cold. Fold over and seal edges well. Fry in deep oil until golden brown on both sides and than glaze.
