Herb Recipe of the Day: Stressbuster Tincture

Another one of those recipes to combat stress. I have made this into a tincture for myself, but haven’t used it for years. An older herbalist gave me his recipe for a tincture that he made for himself for when he gets a bout of stress. I used it for awhile when I was working in a large retail store. After I left that store, I found that I just didn’t need it anymore.

Stressbuster Tincture

1/2 oz Hops
1/2 oz Passionflower
1/4 oz Skullcap
1/4 oz Valerian (do your research on this herb before use, this herb has caused depression in some people)
1 pint alcohol (vodka, brandy , gin or rum) (I usually use either Bacardi 151 or even Everclear due to its high alcohol content)

Combine the 4 ounces of herb and the pint of alcohol into a container that can be sealed airtight. Shake the mixture daily for 2 weeks. After the 2 weeks, strain the mixture with cheese cloth or a tea strainer to remove everything but the alcohol. You can even use the bottle that the alcohol came in.

After your tincture is done, take 10-12 drops twice daily.
