This dish has a rich German flavor,yet is low in calories. The crushed pretzel keeps the pork chops juices.
1 can sauerkraut(8oz.) rinsed and drained
1/4 chopped red or green bell pepper
2 tbs.finely chopped onion
1/2 tsp. caraway seed
1 to 2 tsp.sugar
Mix all ingredients cover and refrigerate 1 hour
Pretzel Pork Chops:
6 lean pork chops about 1/2 inch thick
1 egg slightly beaten
2 Tbs. water
1/2 cup crushed pretzels
2 tsp. margarine
1/2 garlic powder
Trim fat from pork, pound pork until 1/4 inch thick. Mix egg,water,garlic powder. Dip pork into egg mixture,coat with crushed pretzels. Heat the margarine in non stick skillet over medium heat cook pork chops until done about 8 mins.
Serve pork chops with sauerkraut relish .
