Herb of the Day: Gumweed


Gumweed (Grindelia squarrosa)
Parts Used: Flowers and leaves

This is a great herb to use as an antidote for poison oak/ivy. It is also very good for any skin disorder. Made as a tea, it is beneficial for the spasms of asthma, whooping cough, bronchial irritations and nasal congestion. If you have a weak heart this is one herb to stay away from.

Asthma, bronchitis, bladder infections, blisters (external), burns (external), dermatitis, eczema, emphysema, flu, impetigo, poison Ivy/oak, psoriasis, skin disorders, uterus infection, whooping cough
