Blessed Thistle (Cnicus benedictus)

Blessed thistle is excellent for digestive issues and as a general tonic. For women experiencing menopause it aids with headaches, cramps balancing hormones and other issues that come with the “change of life”. Also for new mothers it increases mother’s milk. This herb is not recommended for women experiencing lactinosis, a condition of the pituitary.
It is beneficial for the heart, stomach, aids circulation, helps all liver problems and strengthens memory by bringing oxygen to the brain. The Quinault indians used the whole plant to create a birth control medicine. Obviously, this medicine is not for pregnant women. Some herbalists recommend this herb for treating internal cancer.
