Recipe of the day: Basic Pudding Mix
2c Arrowroot Starch
1c Granulated Maple Sugar
2c non-instant powered milk
Combine all ingredients and store in tightly sealed container. Should be used within two months for maximum freshness.
1/2c Pudding Mix
3c milk separated
1tsp Vanilla or your favorite flavoring
Stir pudding mix into 1/3c cold milk. Heat remaining milk in a saucepan to a gentle boil. Reduce heat and stir in pudding and milk mixture. Stir 5 min. until thickened, remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
There can be many variations using this basic mix such as replace 1c of hot milk and vanilla with 1/4 cup fruit puree and 3/4 cup fruit. Place in a pressed pie crust and top with whipped cream for a delicious fruit & cream pie.
