Herb of the Day: Arnica

Arnica (Arnica montana)
Parts used: flowers, leaves, stem and root
Homeopathic practitioners usually prescribe Arnica for bruises, sprains, strains, breaks (non-compound), and other types of accidents that are sudden and cause shock.
It is usually prepared by crushing the entire plant into pulp and soaking in grain alcohol to aid in extracting the beneficial properties of the herb and renders the substance non-toxic.

Vitamin content At this point, I have been unable to find the vitamin content for Arnica, but once the information becomes available it will be posted.

  1. About arnica: except for homeopathic dosages, it should neither be taken internally, nor used on broken skin, as it is toxic. It’s amazing on the skin (although it can cause skin rashes in some), as you stated.

Therefore, since it shouldn’t be taken internally, it doesn’t matter what vitamins Arnica contains.

Thanks for the info. you’re offering!
